Applying to Penn State’s Master of Finance Program

Penn State World Campus offers a master of finance that is nationally recognized and highly ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The program is designed for people who want to advance their careers in financial or investment management. It promises to give them a comprehensive understanding of finance, teaching critical skills like financial modeling, accounting, multinational financial management, and strategic financial decision-making. Students also learn about financial derivatives such as options and futures.

To apply for the university’s online master of finance program, a person must have either a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a tertiary degree that’s comparable to a four-year degree from an accredited university. To prove this, applicants must electronically submit their official transcripts from the institutions they attended together with their undergraduate GPA scores. The university requires applicants to have a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last two years of their undergraduate study.

Applicants must also submit their official GMAT or GRE scores from the last five years. The university requires applicants to have GMAT/GRE scores of at least 500.

Furthermore, applicants must include in their applications a resume, statement of purpose, and one reference. A nonrefundable application fee is also required. Approval of applicants for admission lies with the Graduate School.
