Based in Bethpage, NY, Angelo Sciortino is a University at Albany graduate who earned his BS in business administration, with a focus on financial management and market regulations. Currently studying at the Penn State World Campus, Angelo Sciortino is working toward a master of finance.

An online degree, this program emphasizes integrating technological tools in navigating complex market dynamics. Students learn about actively managing risk exposure in areas such as exchange and interest rate, as well as commodity price. At the same time, the program provides a template for diversifying globally in ways that drive shareholder value and portfolio growth. Reflecting this international orientation, tax regulations in various countries are explored and multinational financial management strategies that minimize exchange risk exposure are discussed.

The 33-credit program spans two consecutive fall and spring semester courses, as well as one summer semester course. Offered by the Penn State Great Valley campus in the vicinity of Philadelphia, the program also has a required one-week residency component. It culminates in a three-credit capstone that puts students’ analytical abilities to use in a topic related to their core interests.

One benefit of the Penn State master's degree program is its cohort model, with a single batch of students progressing at the same time through the curriculum. This enables high-level collaborative teamwork and career-focused networking, even with students who are situated geographically apart. It also encourages the integration of program content across various courses, such that multiple perspectives can be discussed within a shared framework as the curriculum progresses.
