Three Major Snowboarding Destinations Around New York

Snowboarding is a recreational activity every family member can participate in during winter. While New York is not known to be a famous snowboarding destination, you can visit a few snowboarding spots.

Catamount Mountain Resort is a popular snowboarding resort between the New York and Massachusetts borders. This isolated resort in the Berkshire Mountains is about three hours away from New York City and has several beginner to intermediate routes. Outside of winter, the resort has a wide range of unique activities during summer, fall, and spring activities and is home to the longest zipline in North America.

Gore Mountain Ski Resort is another notable ski resort around New York. It occupies 289 acres of land with about 109 trails. Half of the resort is designed to meet the needs of beginner snowboarders. The resort also has a snow sports school, where visitors can learn a wide range of snow activities.

Greek Peak Mountain Resort, located at Gore Mountain, is a snowboarding destination with advanced terrain. This destination is suitable for beginner and intermediate snowboarders. With over 50 runs, two surface lifts, beginners’ slopes, six aerial lifts, and four terrain parks, this mountain resort is one of the biggest snowboarding resorts in central New York.
