A resident of Bethpage, NY, Angelo Sciortino is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national honor society that promotes the development of campus leaders and prepares them for professional opportunities.

Founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University, Omicron Delta Kappa recruits undergraduate and graduate students from the top 35 percent of their classes. It inducted more than 6,000 students in 2021-2022 and has some 350,000 members.

The society offers 49 scholarships each year, valued at a total of over $69,000. Intended for graduate or professional academic work, these scholarships are given to students in their final undergraduate semesters or to individuals who have graduated within the last five years. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. Also offered are leadership grants to circles (chapters), which average around $500.

Omicron Delta Kappa also sponsors educational events. The Stone Ethical Leadership Challenge provides decision-making practice in 90-minute, half-day, or full-day sessions. Highlighting the 2023 calendar is the National Leadership Conference, which is scheduled to be held November 17-19 in Atlanta.
